A crown is a cap that restores and protects a tooth with extensive decay, cracks, or one in need of cosmetic improvements. Crowns are also used after tooth canal therapy to protect the weakened tooth and as prostheses for dental implants. A dental bridge consists of crowns placed on the adjacent natural teeth, with a false tooth attached/bridged in between them. With both crowns and bridges, modifications must be made to the teeth that are being capped with the crowns. At Balfour Dental, we offer both lab-crafted and CEREC same-day crowns and bridges. Although both options offer long-lasting strength, protection, and natural beauty, CEREC technology with our in-house milling machine enables our team to provide beautiful, customized restorations in just one appointment. The CEREC process eliminates the cumbersome impressions and molds associated with traditional crowns and waiting for the restorations to come back from the dental lab.
